ALBUM DEMO COMPLETE 15th January

emaar and Central Station Records, after much debating, have sorted out the track listing for a future album release. Naturally, an album release is still a little way off, but CSR were keen to show off as much of the emaar product as they could at the World Midem Festival in Germany. With so much overseas intersest in "Higher", it is important to show that emaar can back up one good song with many more good songs!!

The more interest we receive, the more our chances increase in being able to sell individual exclusive licenses. This in turn, will give us the chance to finance a video clip to coincide with the official release of "Higher".(it can all get quite a bit complicated!!)

So we sorted out the best tracks from phases 1 & 2 and arrived at a track listing of 12 songs that we all felt very confident about 60-90 second samples of these tracks will soon be available to hear on this website. Please be patient!!

Higher - The CD Single

"Higher" the Cd single was released in June and this was owed mostly to the tremendous support the song received from you, our fans, which in turn got the song onto every radio playlist in Melbourne in late 2003.

The release has taken the emaar name to another level, with recognition at all our large music retailers and with clubs and djs throughout Australia. We have already touched on the support we have received overseas, and this has been particularly pleasing. The Hiver & Hammer club mix has created a storm in clubland, with much interest coming from USA.

Unfortunately, the earlier than expected radio success led to a catch 22 situation, in that its release in May 2004 came almost six months after it was first played on Melbourne radio. It was always going to be a big ask to hope for the repeat blanket radio coverage the song had received in late 2003. Without radio support the song was unable to break into the ARIA charts. The Hiver & Hammer club mix did make it onto numerous clubland dance charts.

All in all, it was a release that emaar is very proud of. Right at this moment, “Higher” is the song that is being promoted to record labels all over the world, so it would be fair to say that we may not have heard the last of our little baby.

The Launch

On the 29th May 2004 emaar proudly took to the stage at The Palace in St.Kilda to showcase “Higher”. With a six piece band, we were able to deliver a show that encompassed all of emaar’s uniqueness.

emaar are proud to call themselves producers and musicians. Ellie is one of this country’s finest vocalists and in Robert Upward and Matteo, we have guitars and keyboards that create a musical landscape just as easily on a stage as in a studio. Andrew Dannaoui’s live experience working as a dj adds yet another texture. With bass, percussion and back-up vocals added, the night was always going to be a success.

emaar would like to thank all our fans that turned up on the night to lend their support at The Palace and then onto the recovery party at Tilt.

HELP US to HELP YOU to HELP US

emaar will take an extraordinary step in pulling out all stops to make sure this forthcoming release is the one that will please as many of our fans as possible. On our tracks page we have included samples of the twelve tracks that, at the moment, we think will fill the album. We are asking you to take a careful listen and let us know which track you think should be the next single. As well as this, two complete versions of a track called “Paradise” will appear and once again, we are asking that you help us decide which version will make it onto the album and which one will not.

The Latest 12" Vinyl

emaar ‘s third official release was let loose on the world on the 29th November 2004 in the shape of our second 12” vinyl. We have decided to make this a double A side, with two remixes of two potential singles “Love me Crazy” and “Resist”, hoping that reaction to the two songs will help to decide what could be the next single.

Once again the services of Andrew Dannaoui were called upon and once again he has delivered with a killer remix of “Love me Crazy”. Matteo & Rob collaborated together under the emaar banner for the first time since the monster underground smash “Wonderland”, for the second remix of “Love me Crazy”. Both remixes sit comfortably in between the deep/progressive house sound, full of subtilties and crashing moments.

A 20 year old wonderkid took the place of an overseas import this time around. Steve May came highly recommended and we were only to happy to supply him with the entire emaar song list. Steve quickly became fond of the track “Resist” which was allready a personal emaar favourite. Steve was given the parts he needed and 24 hours later, without any sleep had put together the initial workings of his” yellow snow” remix .The finished mix was a piece of work that astounded everyone at Upacci Studio.

With Andrew and Steve, emaar have helped showcase the abundance of extraordinary producer/dj talent in Melbourne and we are proud to have them on board helping us take emaar to the world!!
