emaar earns radio support
After sending out a single demo cd with 5 tracks to Melbourne radio, emaar was overwhelmed with the support sent back over the airwaves. "Higher" has been placed on high rotation on Nova100 and "Without You", on high rotation at JOY FM. "Higher" has also been played on FOX FM.
Requests have flooded in and our profile has been raised markedly. emaar would like to thank all involved at these radio stations for their faith and courage to get behind a local, unsigned act. We hope that this relationship works well into the future, with success for us all.
4th June
emaar signs to central station records
After interest shown by Australia's major leading record labels,
emaar has finally signed with Central Station Records. emaar believe that Central Station will prove to be the best vehicle to take our work onto a national and international stage. Ashley
Gay at Central station was geniunely excited about emaar's total body of work, rather than single tracks and this helped tip
the scales in their favour. Thanks Ash!!
emaar would also like to acknowledge the frienship and guidance Simon Cahill at BMG provided. Many thanks!
24th June
emaar bring on board big guns for "higher" remix.
When Central Station asked who in the world would emaar most like to enlist for a remix of the track "Higher", Hiver & Hammer were the first production team requested. Hiver & Hammer have produced remixes for the likes of Hemstock & Jennings, James Holden, Push, 4 Strings, Ferry Corsten, Lasgo and many others. They are best known for the killer remixes on Faithless' "Outrespective" album.
Contact between us all was established quickly (thanks Ash!!), the H&H boys loved the track from the very beginning and in the end have delivered 3 remixes that truly represent what the progressive sound is supposed to be!!
Hiver&Hammer will tour in Jan/Feb 2004 and their shows will be something to look forward to. Stay tuned for all details.
July 2003
emaar keep it local for tribal remix of "higher" 18th July
emaar are very committed in promoting local dj/producers, as we feel that the Australian dance music scene is blessed with some of the most talented in the world.
Andrew Dannaoui is a name that might not ring a bell, but his tracks have been played by names as familiar as Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Max Graham and Danny Tenaglia. Andrew's connection with everything "deep" impressed us right from the very beginning and we had no hesitation in asking him to try his hand at a remix.
Needless to say, Andrew has supplied a brooding piece of magic that will add to the overall appeal of the cd single.
August 2003
emaar go acoustic
To supply a cd single with as much versatility and appeal as possible we have decided to put together an acoustic version of "Higher". The track comes armed only with two acoustic guitars, piano and Ellie's vocals. As musicians, we are extremely proud of this version and delighted to include it on the cd single.
21st August
phase one complete
After about 18 months, the first songwriting phase has been completed and emaar, together with Central Staion, are very excited with the body of work, that consists of 13 tracks.
Over the next 12 months these songs will be released as 12" vinyls, cd singles, studio albums and bonus giveaways. The tracks "Higher" and "Without You" have allready recieved extensive radio airplay and their release is imminent. "Angel" is another track that radio is allready anxiously awaiting.
September 2003
Phase two begins 1st September
Armed with new equipment, and having refurbished the studio, Rob and Matteo have eagerly started work on the next songwriting phase. Ellie is due back from London by early November and the aim is to have her supplied with plenty of songs in need of her sweet vocals.
Feedback Requested
Now that emaar has made its way onto the wonders of the world wide web, we would love any feedback. Have you heard any of the songs on radio? Which station? What do you think?
Take a minute to join our mailing list, so we can keep you informed on the happenings that are going to take us all on musical journey to Wonderland!!!!
